At Global Cause, we strongly believe in educating future generations about saving giant pandas in the wild. We take pride in our future leaders program which we run in partnership with the Bullis Charter School in California, and the Dujiangyan Foreign Language Experimental School in China. We recently had a visit from a group of 25 Bullis 8th grade students at our Panda Valley Research Station in Dujiangyan.
The students were very enthusiastic about their visit. We filled their day with informative talks on our research work with pandas and with special hands on activities.
As in past years, the Bullis students helped us plant bamboo where a second learning enclosure will be built in Panda Valley. They always do a great job ensuring that the bamboo plants supplied by our Chinese colleagues are efficiently planted. We hope that the bamboo they plant each year will continue to grow and become a source of essential nutrients for future release pandas in our enclosure.
Before leaving Panda Valley, each student received a certificate from Global Cause and became a member of our Wild Panda Team. We welcome their help and commitment to save giant pandas in the wild!
